Gomel State Medical University was founded in 1990. It is the youngest of four medical universities in Belarus. GSMU has attained the status of a modern university and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), ECFMG(USA), GMC (UK), AMC (Australia), SLMC (Sri Lanka), India, China and EU/EEA. Today, Gomel State Medical University employs 600 highly qualified professors and assistant professors within 34 departments, 5 profile research laboratories and a central research laboratory and 18 large well equipped clinics. More than 5000 students (including more than 1300 overseas) are taught at 5 faculties of the University. Indian students in the university currently number 220. The university employs modern teaching methods and courses are conducted in English medium. The university also provides guidance for medical licensing examinations such as AS ERPM/ PLAB/ USMLE/ MCI TESTS/ MOH/ DOH/HAAD (USA).

MBBS : Duration of study – 6 years (full-time)

Entrance test: Currently the university does not hold any written entrance test, but the student may be required to appear for a viva voce.
