Belarusian State Medical University is the leading higher medical educational institution of the Republic of Belarus having merited international authority and recognition. The University, which has more than 90-year-old history, specializes in teaching medicine and dentistry. Teaching at the University is provided at 72 departments (among them 29 theoretical and 43 clinical). The academic classes are organized at 70 teaching hospitals as well as research and practical centers. Over the years, the university has been developing cooperation with partners from 24 countries of the world, among which the contacts established by the university with Russia, Poland, Canada, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Israel and Turkmenistan have become most important. The university boasts of a strength of more that 7000 students of which more than 2000 are foreign students from 52 countries including more than 100 from India.
Education at the University is practice oriented. On average, 70% of classes are either tutorials or practicals in labs. From the 2nd year onwards the academic process at the clinical departments is organized at the premises of the medical institutions of the Ministry of Health. From the 3rd year onwards the students undergo practical training, which is supervised by highly qualified specialists of the corresponding health care institutions.

MBBS (Medical Business): Duration of study: 6 years (full-time).
Dentistry: Duration of study: 5 years (full-time).
Pediatrics: Duration of study: 6 years (full-time).
Pharmacy: Duration of study: 5 years (full-time).
Entrance test: To enter the university, the applicant must pass a test in the form of centralized testing in English, Chemistry and Biology which is conducted at the university premises. Those failing the entrance test either must return to India or join a preparatory course of 8-10 months duration which would prepare the students attain the desired level in various subjects. On completion of the preparatory course, the student would join the regular MBBS program like any other regular student.
